Practice Heavy Vehicle Road Rules Test

Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Licence

HR Truck License allows operation of a truck or bus (including a mobile crane or a prime mover) of more than 8 tones GVM with 3 or more axles, with or an articulated bus (that can bend in the middle).

Pre-requisites & Requirements

A current Australian Driver’s Car Licence or higher provisional, probationary or open; held for a minimum of 2 years
Secondary identification
Wear appropriate clothing, including with completely enclosed boots or runners.
English is the only language used for training and assessment; a functional level of English language comprehension is necessary.
Clear the written knowledge test and the on road practical driving test by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. If you hold a LR or MR Licence then its not required to attempt the written knowledge test

Additional Costs

A mid-week practical driving test booking fee of $70
A mandatory written knowledge test $27.75
