The A1 Truck Driving School Excavator Course is a nationally recognised training course providing essential skills to operate an excavator safely and within the workplace by following the Australian safety guidelines.

Skid Steer

A skid-steer (Bobcat) has a numerous attachment option, these units can be found doing many tasks on many different types of jobsites. From earthmoving on a building site to landscaping a park to cleaning stalls in a barn, skid-steers can be found helping operators get the job done.

Training will be conducted to the requirements as outlined by training.gov.au, which includes:

• Care of Equipment
• Hydraulic Systems and controls
• Loader capacities and stability
• Operators’ safety code
• Overload warning devices
• Pre use safety checks
• Regulations
• Responsibilities
• Safe operating practices
• Weight estimation
• Excavating

Excavator

This is a nationally recognised training course giving participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate an Excavator and work in a range of different working environments including earthmoving, civil construction industries.

• Legislations and standards applicable to operating an Excavator
• Risk management, control procedures & prepare for Excavator operations
• Drive and operate Excavator, and modify the operating technique to meet changing work conditions
• Select, remove and fit attachments
• Relocate the Excavator
• Carry out machine operator maintenance

• Pass the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN)
• Minimum 17 years of age
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn during the practical training element of the course.
